Hello to everyone. after reading all posts about DCT2500 I am confused about I can do with a 2500. I own a JTAG and have a subscribed DCT 2524 / 1612. When I connected it for the first time, I flipped the channels and could see that some channels I was not subscribed to, were showing on the TV screen, so I disconnected the cable box thinking that may be I could save the programmed information on the box memory before CC modify it to have only subscribed channels, since it could be useful for a future hacking of the box, I mean: to save firmware and NVRAM. I also have a BDM and a DCT2000 from another area that can only receive the basic analog channels. Being said that, I am asking for assistance for the following:

1- Procedure to get the firmware and NVRAM from the DCT2524 using a JTAG.
2-How to use NVRAM tool to make a NVRAM for my DCT2000 using 2524 NVRAM information retrieved in the step 1.
3-Any other things that can be done with the 2524.

Any information about the matter will be very appreciated, because my kids are putting a lot of pressure on me to reconnect the subscribed box.

1. Get firmware (everything)

save 90000000 400000
Get firmware (plat, most important part is in here. TV guide, VOD, boot not included)
getram plat
save plat

Get nvram
getram nvram
save nvram

2. You can clone the data from your DCT2000 to your DCT2500.
a. configure left as DCT2500 and left as DCT2000.
b. Open files (first DCT2500 from your box, then DCT2000 file)
c. Use "copy all data to left" on the toll bar.
d save file.

3. DCT2500 you can fake UID as DCT2000 so you can do some VOD testing or block the auth commands. Only on 2.54 now.

Thanks, so much USBBDM. After reading your post, I understand that nothing can be done to clone NVRAM from DCT2524(subscribed box) into a DCT2000 (which has 7.93 firmware and matching NVRAM downloaded from this forum). I thought that using NVRAM tool I could make a NVRAM for my area using the NVRAM information from the subscribed box (DCT2524)in order to be used with my DCT2000 to watch some additional digital channels.
