Connect the Box?

Post by bug »

If I do the Connect the Box in USBBDM. to get what I had befor.

what would I need to do to keep it on for a long/longer time.

Disable the Return by connecting cable to RF IN?
or
change the UID or Network address?
or
what?

I have some boxes that came from the Office wide open. and want to use them.

I dont care for PPV or VOD.
They dont even get them any way.

If ordering ppv/vod leave the return off. I'm not positive about that but it wont hurt. I think if the uid is changed to a fake one that they wont be able to bill you but they may be able to shut your box down. If you cloned a sub uid I think the sub will be charged. If you dont use ppv or vod then as far as I know you can leave it on.

the boxes are pre subed and was turned in, cleared from that Account.( Just the GI, the box was never reset. the PPV was Disabled when the SUB had it.).

the others was wide open from the warehouse, and all is working good. I just wanted to not lose the Programming on the Wide open boxes.

Re: Faking UID = Disconnecting RF-IN

So basically, since we are faking the UID anyways, is there any reason at all to bother leaving the Return RF in?? Should we just disconnect it completely?? Does it make any difference by keeping it connected or not??

Since if we disconnect the RF IN, there's no way it will talk back to the CC, that means we dont even need to change UID anyways right??

NO. You need to change the UID. If the UID it has is one the CC had in their database, what's to stop them from sending a deauth hit to it? They have the UID--so change it to a UID they don't have so the CC cannot send you a deauth hit...or risk having your box shut down.
