Try slower JTAG clock. Not sure what kind of box you have. What is your hardware ID? Some older (hardware id < 4000) cannot do ST40 target.

I bought the USBJTAG NT on October, 2008. So I cant read the label. Do you have the register to know the ID that you send me? or if I open it the ID is inside? My USBJTAG NT have the original case. Regards

I am pretty sure it does not support ST40 core. You can get hardware ID by go to help->about.

My ID is JTAG00001032029, It support the version ST40? If it doesnt support it, can I do an update (I have tools to change any type SMD) or I have to buy a new one?

It is the code in CPLD chip not something you can do. 10xx is for sure cannot support ST40.

Your USB JTAG NT cannot support ST40. You cannot fix it on your end.

I think the existing software will work for your target. No need to add the flash.
