question about cable box

i currently have the qip7100. i dont think you can test those.
my question is can i buy a dct2500 and test that with my svc ?

most caco's will support these boxs...your best to either call them and ask if you buy a used one if they can hook it up(that is if you can buy boxs in your area and not just rent them) or look up your provider online and see if the box is listed on their site...most likey you CAN

just checked and my company does not accept bought boxes.

so my only option is if there was a way to play with the qip7100-1
or qip7100-2

any help in that regard would be cool

that is NOT your only option my friend...think outside the box a bit...do you have any friends that have the box your lookin to buy? maybe get a backup from them~~thats just one of MANY options...get creative

on a side note...you'vebeen a member since 2009 and thse are your 1st posts...do you mind me askin what youve been doing here since then and dont know this ? or did you just registrar and then never come back until now? this always baffles me how people who are members here for years but have a 0 post count or dont know anything....?

time to do some reading my friend, if you dont even know what a backup is i HIGHLY not only recommend but insist on you doing some reading here...your gonna have to learn a few things if you want to acomplish what you want to do...backup= a copy of someone's box...like the nvram, plat, etc, ect..take a look at the 2500 forums (if thats thebox your lookin at buyin) and just start going through all the posts..there is ALL the information you need to get your box going...also alot of newbie threads already here to get you understanding
