Linux NT on Ubuntu Ultimate Edition 64bit

Post by Koevoet »

Ultimate Edition was built off Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat.

Code: Select all

http://ultimateedition.info/ultimate-edition/ultimate-edition-2-8/
Loaded this distro for testing seeing as it was built on Ubuntu 10.10
The 32bit package loads ok on this 64bit distro, so it seems it has the appropriate files needed, are already preloaded into the distro.
NT and UJ modem load with no issues , there are no file crashes on load/Open, save etc.

The USB connection issue is still present in this even after changing the permissions.

Will keep this distro on for testing for the new build once USBBDM releases it.

I will re-debug on ubuntu 10.10 32 bit. This will take a while. The tool chain builds forever.

Now Linux testing is complete. It is time to release official build (remove the "build" in title). Then MAC version will be tested.

With the release of the official build now out , you may find that it will not open on this distro , with it being a 32bit application , so you may beed to install the 32bit library , if you check in terminal you will find the specific error.

In my case it was the libusb-1.0.so.0 file. So in order to rectify this i did the following :

1. Installed getlibs from here > http://frozenfox.freehostia.com/cappy/
2. After this installed opened up a terminal in root and used the following

Code: Select all

getlibs -l libusb-1.0.so.0
once installed rebooted and all was ok.

i found that this works also
wget http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libu/libusb-1.0/libusb-1.0-0_1.0.8-2_i386.deb
dpkg-deb -x libusb-1.0-0_1.0.8-2_i386.deb .
mv ./lib/* /lib
