Is there any update on the status of using GDB with PIC32?

The GDB support for PIC32 needs a lot of work. So far there are only TWO person had shown interest. PIC32MX is a good platform and does need a good development tool.
At the time this was brought up to discussing, I was told that Microchip was also developing their own tool.
I can resume this project (it was half done) if I can get support from Microchip and have reasonable sales for JTAG NT after the development.
