Atheros SoC Based devices
Hello.
I have some working and some dead Atheros AR23xx and AR53xx devices there. I want to flash them with usbjtag NT but it seems that not supports it. Any chance it will?
For example Wistron RDAA81 which is AR2313A cpu, with parallel flash interface (cpu only can access it with a 8-bit width bus).
I really need to get this unit back to life, as it worked before a firmware upgrade. It's bricked the bootloader too, won't put anything out to serial console.
I can send pics from boards, too. JTAGNT detects cpu as Atheros unknown.
Thanks.

You need to consider donate a device to have it supported.
I just have finished the WRT160NL (AR9130 SPI flash) support. Will release 0.47 soon.
AR430W is AR chip with SPI though. In theory the current software should support your device with a few XML tweaks. But it cannot be done then donate a device (dead or not does not matter) should be considered.
Atheros chip is very fast.

I have some hardware with this SoC. The line-up is as follows:usbbdm wrote:You need to consider donate a device to have it supported.

X-Micro XWL-11GRAG (Atheros AR2313A, Parallel flash 8Mbit)
Wistron RDAA-81 (Atheros AR2313A, Parallell flash maybe 8Mbit)
Sparklan WX7800-A (Atheros AR5312, Parallel flash maybe 8Mbit)
As you see all of them are equipped with parallel flash. All has standard 14-pin JTAG header and detects fine as "Atheros Unknown" in JTAG NT. X-micro and Sparklan are in working state, Wistron is dead. If newer releases cannot be extended with XML and needs donate im glad to donate one of them (you choose). You may consider to look openwince or urjtag tool's source as it's open, i think that supported these devices.
Many thanks.

I think with xml change the NT already support device. Even if needed to write some code to support those device, it will not be a big issue. Which target you select now to get unknown flash? If wrong target is selected you cannot detect flash.noip wrote:I have some hardware with this SoC. The line-up is as follows:

You can consider donate a dead device.

So it's always the same but now the cpu is also FF. Can i choose an atheros target that's not SPI? I think only AR430W profile uses Atheros or i'm bad?Code: Select all
