how to flash spi

hey guys i used to program sb series modems.but now i am totally newbie to spi program can anybody refer me guide or video how to program spi flash?

i guess i would need spi adaptor to connect on board chip.can anyone recommend which one to buy?

My Only doubt is when using a usbttl. Have you had any luck?
In the diagram it says +3.3v to pin 2. (No problem there)
But then it says - 3.3v to pin 10. (not too clear)

Is - 3.3v the same thing as ground?
Also the diagram says that usbjtagnt pin 2 must Also be connected to flash pin 10???

So bottom line, how am I suppose to connect usbttl - 3.3v and jtag pin 2 to flash pin 10?

Any clarification would be Greatly appreciated!!!!!
