dead 2224

Post by lowjackd »

have a dct2224 ph9 firm 8.17 that had a zero on it that i was able to recover from using usbbdm directions, and then placed local nvram which restored picture. i then wanted to do firmware testing.
steps i did that caused box to die are:
reset 1
init
getram 400000 200000
save code

reset 1
init
getram 200000 40000
save nvram

at this point i removed usbbdm from box and reset power to discover no power?
when i put usbbdm cable on box with no lights / power and type reset 1 it says bdm on... please help as i am not having luck with! i am available for remote if someone wouldnt mind helping? thanks in advance...

i am new to the dct2000 seen! have been testing dct 700/2500 for some time now....

recent install of setup.exe usb bdm nt 0.47 test ver 0.33

Those commands will not cause the box dead. If you have good backup restore it will fix the issue.

What is the value of RPC and you send "reset 1"?

can you read the box right now at this point? if so your good to go. if you can't then please let us know what is happening when you try to read it so we can help you out....... why it went like that is because you programed it wrong. you have to load the nvram, as well as the code, load them both into the box and change the firm before writing them

look around a bit and you should be able to find the right commands to accomplish the above. it's pretty simple once you find the proper commands to send.

ldram 200000 (selec the file you need to restore)
setram 200000 40000
when programming code i get you need to detect flash type first

If the reset 1 and get RPC = 0xffffffff then issue those command

reset 1
r rpc 468
r a7 200400
init
flshdct code

Then load file and program it.

i have attempted to use unbrick command?
ldram code
reset 1
init
r rpc 468
r a7 200400
flshdct code
program code

when i use the flshdct code it says unknown flash type?

that's a good rpc # so no worries there...what happens when you first hit the id detect tab? did you follow those steps exactly?

when does it say unknown flash type? at what stage are you getting stuck at? need exact info here as to what stage your having problems so it can be narrowed down as to why your getting that error...

are you using a new jtag or an old style bdm? also check in the software and see if there is any data in the code that you loaded in there (maybe it was a bad backup)

i don't think the watchdog c105 resistor has to be cut off a ph9 so that shouldn't matter.....
