connect the usbbdm then connect power
run usbjtagnt software and change the config to dct2224 then use these commands

reset 1
init
getram nvram
getram code

save nvram
save code

firm (make your changes in the popup)

flshdct code
program code

If you need to connect the box or change the upm then also do this:

connect
upm (enter new upm)
setram nvram
reset (when done)

2224 and 2244 are pretty much the same I believe. The UPM is used for the interactive apps like VOD. In some areas you need to have a valid upm and sometimes a valid uid and upm in order for the VOD to work.

You should see BDM ON all the time. Cannot detect flash means you should not even try to program the device. Your backup could be wrong too.

C105 is a capacitor located near the front of the board by the power supply side. There are pictures under the usbbdm tab on the left side of the forum. You just need to cut one leg with some wire cutters. If it is your box you can just remove it.

Go to menu under testing.

firm is not a built in command. It is part of the dll and the name has changed.

The firm command works for me. Does it only work for some firmware versions and not others? Or is it possible that he needs to flip his firmware first the use firm command then flip back to program?

That is possible. Always use latest dll.
