no digital stations

ok i used to work for the cable company. i dont anymore the boxes i have are at least 6 months old. they wouldent be entered into the system unless i added them to a customers account. so i have boxes that are not in the system and almost all of them are timed out i have tried to connect to box but it only gives me anolog stations no digital. these are misplaced boxes and has never been on a account. i hope im clear enough?

cant i change the unit address on an unauthorised box to a authorised box address and then go from there?
