DCT2224 CR6 Board Help!

Post by wiggim »

I have been attempting to change UID on unit for quite some time now without luck. I have read through forums and am confident I am doing it right.

Disabled watchdog (C105)
I do a dump (getram code/getram nvram)
I flip firmware as its required with this version (will not allow me to fake unitID otherwise)
hit checkbox fake UID and enter 10 random numbers
flip firmware back to original
save code
ldram 400000 and select the saved firmware
program and destination 406000 with size aa000

Every time that I do this it shows program passed but UID is not changed! I have attempted to change UPM and that works without issue so the NVRAM can be wrote but not the firmware? Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? information on CR4 boards seems to be are few and far between.

Try programming the code *before* you do a "setram nvram"...

wow fast response. I am only attempting to change the code, not nvram. I only did NVRAM to ensure something would write to the box after 5 failed code write attempts.

so I do getram code, do the uid change as listed above, type setram code, destination 406000 size aa000 and it should work?

Hmm...strange. Sometime I encounter your problem or the numbers I type in come up to be a totally different UID. I usually start with a 1101.... and have the 10th digit be a "1".

try maybe 11XXXXXXX1 and see what you get!

i found if I do this
program code
program code 406000 aa000
setram nvram

it all worked. just needed to program 2x.

now it seems all my digital channels are lost. Maybe my cc is too much in the know on this method. all analog works though.
