I need NVRAM i think??

My box has the "0" have been trying to fix it. Before I found this site and bought a usbbdm cable I had done a factory reset. Well I dont know anyone that has a cable box like mine in ym area and they mostly have direct tv. So do I have to program the nv ram before I upgrade the firmware. I try to upgrade the firware and I get as far as
reset 1
init
then type address 400000 and I get address out of range. I have a ph6 board.

Also on the instrrctions to reset the zero the file name end in .zip and the downloadable files are .rar? Does this make any difference.

did you try

reset 1
init
getram 400000 200000

this should fill the code tab with your firmware.


.zip and .rar are just different types of compressed files. it has nothing to do with the files inside the compressed one.
