So I bricked a 4200 and a 5120.
Question 1:
Is there a website that sells spring loaded 10 and 14 pin headers (solderless headers)? I think half the problem is my shity solder joints.
Question 2:
Is it possible for the forum to post the original firmware in case one does brick a modem? (I went to TCNISO.net and they have this hex.bin file and I either I'm an idiot or it doesn't work right with the USBJtag)
I know I'm suppose to back up the firmware first. I thought I did, but then I whet to pull the cable off a pin came with it... After a few choice words I tried to repair the damage and am left with a brick...
Question 3:
I've searched all over the net and through the forum.
Sigma/Hackware/Fiberware
None of it seems to be formated to work with the software/hardware we use here. What does one need to change or alter? Or does one need to flash the chip with a differn't command then (4200 SB) -
detect
ldram 9fc00000
program 9fc00000 200000
Is there some boot section that needs to be flashed back to the chip along with the new firmware? If so where does the boot section start end and the hacked firmware start and end? Is it differnt for each version?

I used the firmware and did a program 9fc00000 200000 on the 4200 and it keeps reseting it's self. It's stuck in an auto loop. I tried it over again and same thing. I dit a getram 9fc20000 200000 and looked to see if it flashed right and everything seemed to be ok...
SO, now I'm stuck...I've flashed the good firmware that USBBDM gave me and it just keeps flashing on and off...
Any segestions?

Make sure you program the right file to right modem. I once program a SB5100 boot to DCT2500 and it took me very long to recover my DCT2500. So if you programmed SB5120 to SB4200 or any combination it will be very hard to fix (harder than fix a blank flash) since it has some legal instructions but not for the right hardware and that will keep resetting.GTF696 wrote:I used the firmware and did a program 9fc00000 200000 on the 4200 and it keeps reseting it's self.
