I received many emails asking the same question and I am making this post sticky.

The USB JTAG is 14 pin EJTAG standard. SB5100 uses the first 10 pin of EJTAG connector and you only see 10 pin of them. Since a lot user already familiar with Blackcat and they believe JTAG should be 10 pin. For different CPU there is different standard.
In EJTAG, 14 pin is standard, it is used in DCT 700 DCT2500 and SB5120 DVI HD6412. To use SB5100 and some other modems, you only need to connect the First 10 pins. Leave the rest 4 pins unconnected.

Look the picture from 5101 Jtag (Haynes Cable Modem Guide Rev1.7.2, pag 103)

Pin 1 - TCK ??????????

The one we post here is correct for cable modem SB5100/sb5101. If your modem has different JTAG pinout you need to make one cable to connect it right.
