P12 recovery using u-Link NT

Post by darkman5001 »

Greetings. I am trying to recover a bricked P12 PCM, P12 PCM Service # 12597521. I see that the P12 is almost identical to the E40 as both PCMs use the same main and slave CPUs as well as the same flash chip, however the E40 uses CAN and the P12 uses VPW. Also the circuit boards have some different circuit traces so I do not think using the E40s BDM wiring points will work. Is there anyone that has tried this who could provide me some information please? Thank you in advance.

The person sent me e40 to work with has p12 and he confirmed that BDM does work. The pins are compatible at the bottom rows and you need trace back to the pcb to find spot for easy soldering.
