Freescale based cummins ecu

Post by Decryptor »

Hello
I have some cummins ECM's and they are all based on the freescale CPu's
MPC555

MPC5566 w Cypress CY7C1041CV33-20ZSXE SRAM
http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/sit ... de=MPC5566

Want to give this one a go? Will be less work than tricores :)

I think MPC BDM is very similar to BDM for MC6833X. However I need to find a board to develop the software to support it.

Sorry I read a little bit. It uses JTAG instead of BDM.

A little bit confused. Some document says using BDM. Some document says using JTAG. It might support both.
Old Freescale CPU 6833X CPU use BDM.

The document is detail enough for me to get started. However I need a board to do all the development.
This is a major CPU support and I am expect a big challenges. However I can see it can be done.
Someone need to donate a device to me to get started. After the development, if no more maintenance is needed I can return the device. Or I can keep the device if maintenance patches are needed.
Please also estimate the market (people who want to use this feature) to see if it is worth the time to development.
