CM551

Post by stefanUJ »

I have a CM551 from a 2001 Dodge Cummins.

It has a MC68336
Intel 28F200 Flash
and the following memory organization

0x000000 - 0x3FFFFF: Flash. The first 16k (0x000000 - 0x004000) is the 'boot' part of the flash chip.
0x800000 - 0x80FFFF: RAM
0xFFD000 - 0xFFD7FF: Some unknown peripheral device. Perhaps the Atmel chip?
0xFFD800 - 0xFFDFFF: Intel CAN Controller
0xFFE000 - 0xFFEFFF: TPURAM (Refer to the MC68336 manual)
0xFFF000 - 0xFFFFFF: MC68336 internal functions/integrated peripherals

the only configurations I could connect with were
Volvocme
Volvo25

Also modified the volvocme with the correct ram memory address and flash size
Still no luck reading the flash

have RPC =0000001E
That i understand is not good.
Can anyone help me out with the next set?

Sorry for the late reply. This forum is more like an archive. Due to too many spammers I have to manually activate each accou.t
If you need immediate support (remote), you can go to www.usbjtag.com (not this forum) and any page will show a little dialog on lower right and if I am online we can chat there. I am on pacific time zone.

The ECM resets internally after about 5s
If I do it fast, I can read the memory. But data varies with read, and seems no good.

Tried to peek the register for reset timing, but got Reading 0xFFFFFFFF with data 0xFFFFFFFF

What is the next step

Found out what chip that was resetting the ECU. What configuration file do you recommend me to start with. Seems as all have different init values for the registers

You need to read back the firmware and analyze to do proper init to be able to read/write flash properly.
