ricktendo wrote:@bingo600 DO NOT INSTALL v2 this firmware has been pulled for the ER-X due to too many issues
I just dug out my ER-X , and discovered i had put 2.0 on it ...
It behaved a bit strange , and the dashboard was showing NADA ....

I ssh'ed into it and selected the "old 1.10.x" image , and did a reboot ....
The router was "unresponsive after that" ....
I thought damm (but i have an USBJTAG , and there will be support soon).

I decided to try a "Reset" , and held the button in for a loooooong time (like 60 secs).
After the reboot , it came alive w, the default config.

Guess i was luky

But i have strong confidence in USBBDM , to make a recovery for the ER-X

I confirm there are FIVE cores in the JTAG chain, the total length of the IR is 25 bits (5 mips core). I will see how we can proceed this.

I have the Lite version, this has NOR and a SPI eeprom but these are not the OS storage, for this it uses a USB stick!

If you want results from my usbjtag nt let me know, here are pictures and details

Some information that you may find interesting, here is a link to the latest firmware

https://www.ui.com/download/edgemax/edgerouter-x

After you update the firmware you can update the bootloader using SSH and the following command

Code: Select all

show system boot-image
add system boot-image
reboot

Yes. I can access MIPS memory. However, I cannot have the NAND part working.
The command is to access data at 0xbe003000. After issue read ID to the NAND, I do not get the data I am expecting.
I need to work on something else for a while and will resume back the project latter.

After played this device for a while, I found some inconsistent result, the scan chain has 5 JTAG device in series, the MIPS core is on the second. Some time I can access the core but some time it failed.
If I use the bit clocking (not use USB JTAG NT directly), I can get to the core 100%.
When using USB JTAG NT, I cannot get 100%. Maybe there is some noise that exist and I am still fighting with it.
I will try hard again.
