Try to click the exe file not the quick launch. The files are located at
C:\Program Files\usbjtag\usbjtagnt

I Install mine in a folder on desktop and have never had a problem.
C:\Program Files\usbjtag\usbjtagnt does not even exist on my computer.

I tried this too and it did not work, I am going try another laptop tomorrow to see what happen.

usbbdm have found a problem under side by side app so hes trying to do some arrangements

After spent sometime it is because of sidebyside error. (Event viewer shows this).
It is related to missing Visual 2005 dlls. It seems quite common that the installation might failed without any error.
Here is one I found.

Google and search for event viewer. It is in the administrator tools. I would recompile using another tool but the package might be bigger.

Like I mentioned, it worked for me on first try. I am running xp pro on my acer laptop.
Have not tried it on desktop which is Vista. Tundra says his worked also, not sure
if he is running Vista or Xp.

Try this for a solution , may sound a bit off the rack but it worked on a version of win xp 32 for me ,, install the latest yahoo messenger it installed the needed components for some or other reason ,, see if it works , you can always uninstall the messenger afterwards .

installed 41 but there was no files in the dll folder. copied dll's from 39. everything good

Thank-you, this trick did work for me for one laptop, the other laptop I had not problem in the first time.
