Default 8 Pin SPI without ISP

Is there a way to read/write to a 8 pin chip without knowing the ISP point?
For instance powering pin 2 on the 16 pins.. thanks!

It is safer and easier to remove the chip from the board. Direct power the chip on board has certain risk of damage the target board.

oh ok, so no 5v to pin 8??

You don't recommend it because it might fry the board itself?

3.3 v or 5v. If you try, always try the 3.3v first. and DONT CONNECT EQUIPMENT POWER when using this Method. Desipte the word of Caution from USB, I have been using this method for years with no ill effect. Thats not to say it won't or can't happen.

aside from that, What is the model number of the equipment, Maybe someone has already found the ISP Point for it!!!
