Default USBJTAG NT for advanced user.

USB JTAG NT can be used by developers. Even though I have not put gdb support. You can still do some interesting testing with it.

If you have a DCT700 you can see USBJTAG NT used its internal debug feature. Here is how.

1. Edit TDCT700.xml (%appdata%/usbjtag/config). Add this line at the beginning.
Code:
<Ice>1</Ice>
.
2. Start application and type help, you should see several more commands. (Most useful commands are bpx, bpm, bl, bc). These commands are similar to Softice. They can be used to stop the CPU at the memory access or at certain address.
3. You should select register view under configuration.
4. If you want to analyze the address you can use "d" command to display the address.

Of cause you should have disassembled the software. You can use any tool. However the disassembler on this site should have the job done.

To stop at certain address use command
bpx xxxx.

To list breakpoints use command
bl

To disable the breakpoints use (one at a time)
bd ( 0 1 2 3)

To clear the breakpoints use (one at a time)
bc

sometime you need to use poke command to do certain things (like disable interrupt).
More detail should refer to MIPS document.

Hope this can help some people to dig into the firmware and find something interesting.

Hi! What is the status of "Ice" feature? What are the supported devices nowadays (if any)?

Thanks!

You should be able to set breakpoint(DCT700 CPU support this feature. DCT2500 does not).
