Firstly, I gotta say; I love the forums, great place for usb-jtag info!! Thanks usbbdm!! Anywaysssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss........

I soldered a header to a Toshiba pcx 2600, the jtag detects it but this is what I get;

IDCODE 0000100F
TI TNETC4401
IMPCODE 21404000
DMA not supoorted
Unknown flash type!
Report these two value to [email protected] 0020,88ce

Can somebody tell me how I can add the definitions so I can read/write to this modem. Thanks a lo in advance for reading/replying.

Thanks for the help!! I tried to follow that post but I am lost lol :P

I attached the files that need to be edited, if you could do it and re post them for me, or write the code and tell me where to paste it. That would be awesome!!

Thanks again man, for the quick reliable help. You rule!

If I were you
I will first read the label of the flash chip. Go online and find the datasheet. If you still cannot do it send me the pdf, I will make a post on how to add one line with that pdf.

BTW, the new USB JTAG NT will use xml definition for flash.

Ok awesome, where is the flash chip label? I see a cpl little chips, the one that looks like the ones on sb modems says;

M28W160CT
90N1
5EQRV
0326
ITALY

And the BIG one says this;

TNETC4401PYR
B35ELNXT

Which one do I look up the datasheet for, thanks again man, for all the help. I really appreciate your dedication.

Thanks! Worked like a charm. For anybody using this, make sure you have the software configured for a 5120 :P Then it works fine. Thanks again!

This modem should be able to restore to its original state. It is not bricked.
Programming the unknown firmware is not recommended as you will spend more time to fix the modem.

Yea, i was able to grab a sh!tload of firmwares from rogers tftp servers a month or so back. I have a bunch of toshiba firmwares from pcx 2600 and 2500. I am going ot mess around and see what the modem take :) maybe (which i doubt because of part differences) I can get a hacked firm onto it?

PS:

If any of you should want any of the firms, i can make you a list and post them. They are ALL rogers signed as well. There is almost every cable modem firmware in the list. (not every one for every model, but 1 for alsmot every type, like webstar, smc, motorola etc.) Just pm me and I will make a thread or send htem via pms! )

Thanks usbbdm for all your help in getting this to work! I appreciate it a lot!
