That would work for dct/2224/1661/acdeg and dct2500, but the dct700 does not carry such cable. Hence the only solution would be to apply HW mod like Wolfgang suggested or use an external filter (vcr tuners have a built in filter).

NOT TRUE, on the DCT700, DCT2500 and DCT2224 you can block without losing guide without any filter or HW MOD or removing loop..........

Question guys. If uplink is blocked (this should mean that under interactive info ip should say 0.0.0.0 and running state should say wait_so_ack and all socket ports should say unused) won't they still be able to monitor your downstream activity (do more channels mean more packets transferred)? Sorry for noob question. Just want to understand and be sure.
