Motorola 68332 Target

Post by Decryptor »

Hello. Today I am working with an older Transmission controller.
This also has 90 pin motorola header like the 411.
From the top side of the board with CPU, it is a mirror image of the connector.

I can deal with holding 12v on flash and all of that if need be. For now I just want basics to work.

So far I can not enter BDM mode on Processor. With oscilloscope I can see BKPT being held low from normal 3.x voltage. Maybe Hold BKPT low to gnd with a jumper? Any problem just holding it low while testing?

I read the Motorola manual some and I see that BRKPT needs to be held low, but it must happen on the rising edge of the reset signal. I will attempt to get reset set up on channel 2 today and watch and see if timing is correct.

What other things should I look for that would keep it from entering BDM?

USB BDM NT should do this automatically. However it may not be strong enough to pull down your target.

BDM NT right? :)

I see it pulling it from 3.3v to 0 . I haven't been able to get channel 2 triggered and on screen so that I can plot the brkpt pulldown against the reset signal but I imagine its fine.

I can send you spare board if you want.
