The title should by how to DEBRICK the modem.

Have you tried to make the modem to DEBUG ON mode and use "erase" and "sprogram". Also try to use slower JTAG speed when this happens.

How you Bricked? Tryed to Load Firmware Usnig USBJTAG NT? :D
If so all you have to do ( If you have another one that is ) Read the flash from good one and write to Bricked one. This will DeBrick it and will not change the Original MAC's or Anything else. This is the reason I Use Serial tool to Program Firm to these Modems. I have mentioned it pleanty of times But Who Pays Attention.

Anyway Good Luck. ;)

So Can I. I only Load the Firm with Serial as a personal Prefrence. That Does not mean I cant read or write the Entire Flash or Program in different Manner.
The Question is Did you DeBrick it? You must have done something Wrong Regardless of How you Do them in order to Brick the Modem, If not you would not be here asking How to DeBrick Them. :D

No BackUp thru Serial. You can Use the USBJTAG NT Software with a 10 pin to 8 pin Adapter that works for the Netgears As Well as the DPC2100. And Unless you Have an Original,Unmodded Backup of a Netgrea Modem you won't be able to Put back to Stock Condition Untill you Find Someone that can Send you the Original Firmware. If you have the Original Firmware then you Don't need Serial, usbjtag or anything else Since you can Load the Original Firmware thru Haxoware. ;)
