SB5100 Dead

Post by bancorat »

Hi guys,
I am having problems flashing my sb5100. The lights aren't working, when I connect the modem with my ubsjtag nt cable and click on D to detec the modem it gives me this info

Copyright http://www.usbjtag.com 2008,2009,2010
Do not use this software if your product is not copyrighte http://www.usbjtag.com
USB JTAG NT 0.21
detect
IDCODE 0334817F
Broadcom BCM3348
IMPCODE 00800908
DMA supoorted
Found Address= 9fc00000 CFI Intel 28F160C3B

If i try to program the bootloader, it seems to do it fine it only takes 1 second to flash it.

When I try to program the flash it strarts erasing it, after it finishes it only takes 1 second to flash an then it gives me this message

-ldram 9fc00000
-program 9fc00000 200000
Erase starts...
Erase time 00:00:05 (.265)
Program speed 11155.06 KB/s
Program time 00:00:00 (.453)
Program pass, if no further programming needed, power off/on the target

any help?

stompers, thanks for the script it worked for a sb5101 that was broken, still having the same problem with the sb5100. Usbjtag software detects the modem, erases the flash and al but it doesn't write the flash. Im going to keep trying.

Thanks!

Glad to hear it!
Funny, the sb5100 is the only box I used it on the timing thing is very important.

If you use NT I can help you debrick it.Basically you need to sprogram it. But there are two programs built in NT for sprogram. One is using DMA and one is not. There are slightly different and sometime one worked and sometime the other worked.

I have the old usbjtag and I use

detect
ldram boot
ldram image0
program boot
program image0

usually with this cable I use

ldram 9fc00000
program 9fc00000 200000

when I load the full backup (2mb), but as I said, I have the usbjtag cable not the usbjtag NT
